The company has been manufacturing Hwanggol Jocheong (Grain Syrup) and Hwanggol Yeot (Taffy) with a time-honored secret recipe passed down through the family in Hwanggol Village located at the entrance of Mt. Chiak in Wonju City in Gangwon-do Province and won the Wonju City’s Largest Family Business Award inheriting family trade for five generations now. CEO Kim Myeong-ja, the fifth generation inheritor, was designated as Korea’s Traditional Food Master No. 70 designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in Korea.
The company farms corn, ingredient of the Chiak Mountain Hwanggol Yeot Jangbau, and uses it as an ingredient, and it also buds barley malt, another ingredient, and dries it before using it as an ingredient. Presently, all Chiak Mountain Hwanggol Yeot Jangbau products are made with 100% domestic ingredients. All products are made by Master Kim Myeong-ja in person.
